Principal's Message

 

Dear Students, Parents, and Guardians,

On behalf of the staff at Riverview School, I am happy to welcome you to a new school year.  We look forward to a collaborative partnership with you to ensure our students can achieve their highest potential.  It is truly such an honor to work at such a positive and community-driven school where there is a strong focus on student achievement and well-being.  I believe that each student deserves a quality education and that is possible when we work together.  Along with getting to know each student, I am also excited to begin working with each of you.  My hope is that you feel welcomed and choose to participate in your child’s education through volunteering, joining our PTC, or participating in school events throughout the year.

In 2023, Riverview School was recognized as a California school to watch. We also earned the California Distinguished School Award from the California Department of Education in 2018.  Riverview is home to about 460 students and over 30 staff members.  The Riverview staff strives to implement writing across the curriculum, maintain a focused reading program, and practices a flexible intervention program.  We recognize the importance of our students' social emotional well being and will continue to implement lessons that support this area.

We encourage all students to come to school each and every day, ready to learn.  We appreciate how our parents value education and provide valuable support to our school community.  Our students are motivated to do their best through purposeful and engaging lessons.  Riverview has received a Gold Level PBIS award for the past several years.  Our school expectations for Beavers are:      

          “ Be Respectful, Be Responsible, Be Safe!”

One of our most important responsibilities to you is that we keep you informed of all that is taking place at the school.  One of the ways we do this is regularly updating our school website.  You can find up-to-date events and additional information.  Another critical communication tool that we use to keep parents informed is Parent Square.  Please do not hesitate to contact me or our front office with any questions or concerns you may have.
